Never touched a barbell
Starting with an empty bar is normal. Everyone does it.
Strength training here means coached barbell and free-weight work — squat, press, deadlift, row and their variations — programmed to make you measurably stronger over months, not days.
Technique comes first. You'll spend the early sessions learning to move well with light weight, because that's what lets you keep adding load for years instead of getting hurt in week six.
The focus is functional strength: movement patterns that carry over to work, sport and everyday life, with progressive overload and injury prevention built into the programming.

In the session
Every program is different, but this is the shape of it.

A coach's eye and a real program usually finds the problem inside a session.
Strength is the single best defence against getting frail. It's never too late to start.
A strong back and solid bracing habits pay for themselves on site.
No. Strength training is one of the most valuable things people can do as they age — it protects bone density, muscle mass and independence. Programs are scaled to your starting point and any existing conditions.
Not by accident. Building significant muscle mass takes years of deliberate training and eating for it. For most people, strength training makes them look leaner and more athletic, not bigger.
Say so before you start. Bracing technique, movement selection and loading are all adjusted around existing issues. Coached lifting done correctly is often what makes stubborn backs and knees better, not worse.
Strength numbers usually move within two to four weeks — the early gains are your nervous system learning the movement. Visible changes in how you look typically take eight to twelve weeks of consistent training and eating.
Yes, and most people do. The coach builds the blend around your main goal so the sessions support each other rather than compete.
