What progress
actually looks
like
Not before-and-afters under different lighting. The markers that tell you training is working.
How results are
measured here
Progress at More Than Fitness is tracked across several markers at once — strength, conditioning, body composition, energy and how you feel — because no single number tells the truth on its own.
Body weight is the noisiest measure there is. It moves with hydration, food timing, sleep and stress, and it can sit still for a fortnight while your body composition changes underneath. So it's one input among several rather than the scoreboard.
What gets tracked is agreed with you at the start. Some people want numbers on a spreadsheet. Others want to be told when they're doing well and left alone otherwise. Both work.
The markers
Six things
that move
Strength numbers
The first thing to change, usually within a fortnight. Weight on the bar is honest.
How clothes fit
Body composition changes show up here long before the scale agrees.
Energy through the day
The 3pm slump lifting is one of the earliest and most under-rated wins.
Conditioning
Recovery between efforts, and how you feel at the top of the stairs.
Sleep
Consistent training and better sleep feed each other in both directions.
Confidence
Hard to measure, impossible to miss. It's usually why people stay.

About

Honest answers, including the unglamorous ones.
With more than the scales. Strength numbers, how clothes fit, energy through the day, sleep quality, resting heart rate and photos all move — often well before body weight does. You choose which markers matter to you and those get tracked.
Strength and fitness numbers usually move within two to four weeks. Visible physical change typically takes eight to twelve weeks of consistent training. Anything promised faster than that is water weight or marketing.
Then the plan changes. If something isn't working after a fair run, the coach's job is to say so plainly and adjust it — not to tell you to try harder.
